The Halsie Minor Band is a quality, live covers band that plays pop, rock, soul, and disco music from the 60's, 70's and 80's. Based on Queensland's Gold Coast, they have been performing together since 2022 and are known for their high-energy performances and ability to get the crowd dancing.
ABOUT US
Diann - Lead Vocals
Diann [Nickname RED] lives on the Gold Coast & loves to sing, travel, go camping, swimming & being with husband John & their dog. Diann has a music history spanning 25 years and started singing in talent concerts and TV shows. She sang as a guest performer in an Asian Broadcasting competition. Diann has backed many performers and fronted many bands in NZ including Tongue & Groove, the top corporate act in Auckland who performed for NZ prime ministers, the all blacks & Americas cup.
Kim - Keyboard & Vocals
Kim lives in Robina & besides music Kim enjoys painting, dance & interior design. Kim started her musical career as a classical pianist and singer. She then applied her skills to contemporary music and joined the Halsie Minor Band at the request of her brother Geoff.
Tamara - Backing Vocals
Tamara lives on the Gold Coast & enjoys listening to live musical acts & travelling .
Tamara began singing at the age of 10 in Adelaide & was the backing vocalist for popular Adelaide bands Urban Groove & Yellow Baby
Anthony - Guitar & Vocals
Anthony lives on the Gold Coast & enjoys music, special time with his family & being a grandfather.
Anthony began playing guitar in high school. He played the Sydney music scene supporting well known Aussie bands Rose Tattoo & Choir Boys. He has recorded for Independent record labels & managed a number of Sydney bands & toured Australia.
Geoff - Bass Guitar
Geoff lives in Arundel & likes to go fishing & surfing.
Geoff started in a punk rock band in 1979, then into the Sydney Indie music scene in early 80”s. Had radio exposure & toured the East Coast of Australia during which time he supported Dead Kennedys on tour, then onto The Died Pretty band before playing with the Halsie Minor Band from October 2022.
Rino - Drums
Rino lives on the Gold Coast and enjoys listening to live musical acts and travelling with his band member wife, Tamara.
Rino started drumming at the age of 14 in Adelaide. He has supported Boney M, Ian Moss, Urban Groove, Yellow Baby & Viagra Falls. Rino has played on many original & cover recordings
Paul - Lead Guitar & Vocals
Paul started playing guitar at age 9 and formed his first band in high school at age 13. Since then, he has played in a variety of bands including The Angry Penguins, Jakarta, Lenny Driftwood & The Piledrivers & The Neilly Diamond show, to name a few. He has toured across NSW, Western Australia, Queensland, and the west coast of the USA. Paul also contributed to recording sessions at Music Farm studios for artists such as Redgum, Jeff Duff and Judith Durham.
